Social Media Video Package Prices (No Management)
Main Post:
I'm just hoping to see if people can tell me what kind of packages or services they offer for small businesses that need help with creating content for social media.
I know this is pretty vague it's why I'm trying to figure this out.
For example, if someone came to you asking for 2x "social videos" per week. (Put them on a 3-month contract so guaranteed) (Plus a day to film)
How does that translate for you?
This isn't the same as a more produced video and I'm trying to understand what is fair and reasonable and expected.
This does not include managing their platforms etc..
Maybe offering it to social media marketers to offer their clients.
Maybe it just isn't for me but when I do the numbers it just doesn't really seem worth it...not until you do enough that you hire people to help you.
Top Comment: I’ve done something similar a few times, as a one man band. 2 vids for social media per week, for 3 months - looking at $2,500/month. Sounds like a lot, but that’s only $250 per video. This can vary wildly though. Some might say this is way too cheap. Others, way too expensive. All depends on the exact deliverables, equipment, time needed etc. Social media promo could be done from an iPhone or from a rigged out and gaffed out setup. Could be highly produced, or simple run and guns. In my example above, I worked with the businesses to develop a strategy, shot & edited the content with lighting, audio, etc. This was my first time working with businesses and if I had another hand or two I probably would have doubled the price. When I presented the businesses with a quote, I made sure to break down the cost...everything that factored into this price. Once they saw everything that went into each video - from planning, shooting and editing (and everything that comes with those three things), it justified the total cost.
Prices on physical media read below ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Main Post:
They should make physical media somewhat affordable to all. DVDs/Blu-ray’s are slowly coming to an end as we all know. The fact that they still print new movies is cool but please make it cheap! I know it’s a new movie and it cost to make a bunch of copies but with high prices like $39.99 or $49.99 this hobby of buying new movies will die down even faster!
Top Comment: I think you highly overestimate the number of media company CEOs hanging out on this subreddit.
Vrigin Media prices
Main Post:
I was wondering if anyone would be able to advise me on prices from Virgin Media.
I'm currently paying £55 for 100Mbps which I thought at the time was a great deal until I found out some of my friends were receiving 4-5 times that speed for only a little more from different providers.
So I went to look up what deals Virgin Media could offer if I wanted to go up to 200 or 300Mbps. I couldn't find anything for existing customers, only deals for new customers which were typically half the price of what I'm paying for double the speeds. So this tells me that I'm going to have to phone them up now and ask and I have a feeling I'm going to be offered some ridiculous prices.
Is there anyone already on a 200-300Mbps deal that could share what they are paying so I can get a good idea before I contact them?
Top Comment: 350Mb £34/month. Negotiated Dec 2020 18 month contract. Cancelled and they called me back the next day. BB only.
USPS raising prices on Media Mail by 10-12% - 1 Pound and under will be $3.19 starting August 29th.
Main Post:
The US Post Office is raising prices on Media Mail (books, DVDs, CDs, multi-media discs and video games) starting at $3.19 and going up depending on weight. They are also raising the price on Signature Confirmation to $2.90. The following is a chart to show the upcoming changes.

I move a lot of books and DVDs so this is definitely cutting into profits. I have slowly begun to change my pricing to include the shipping costs and at over $3 per item, I cant see myself going back to free shipping without selling something minimally for $10 (I realize it all works out the same to some degree, but for me, the math is easier to calculate my profits when I remove shipping out of the equation). I sell on Amazon as well through FBA and eBay is reaching towards similar fees when you count shipping costs. Problem is, Amazon gets about 100 million more customers to justify the fees.

[CR Media] Critical role live show prices
Main Post:
So I was able to get tickets for that Liveshow in Londen. But then I saw the prices and I have no clue about the seating (Which seating price is where on the map), so after a short hesitation the tickets were gone.
My question: Is this terribly expensive? Or would a price 4 still be okay for a live dnd show? Like decently able to see the cast and enjoy the show.

Virgin media increasing prices again
Main Post:
Anyone else just get this email? Getting pretty tired of this now, mine is going up 12% even in a fixed term contract. They only just increased it last year too. The squeeze continues.

Changes in pricing allows you to end your contract early and go with a different ISP.
Ditching car due to high gas prices (media call out)
Main Post:
Hey Moncton (and anyone in the surrounding areas),
My name is Aidan Cox and I'm a reporter with CBC New Brunswick. With record high gas prices, I'm interested in hearing from folks who are considering ditching their car or even reducing the usage of their car in favour of biking, taking public transit and even walking. And if this is something you've already done, I'm still interested in hearing from you and want to know what your experience has been. Has it been positive? What have you noticed about your city that make it friendly or unfriendly for non car users?Feel free to comment below or message me directly.
Cheers,

I moved to NB from Ottawa in 2005 for university. One of the biggest adjustments I had to make was relying on an inflexible public transportation system.
I now drive. This province is horribly punitive to people who do not drive. My mother in law, who is disabled, needs to take three buses (which is approximately 1.5 hours of travelling each way ) in the city of Moncton to go to her local YMCA, of which is only a 10 minute trip via car.
The gas prices won't affect my car usage, not because I wouldn't want to, but because there are no other reliable alternatives.
I, personally, think investing in a robust public transportation system in the main cities of NB would only encourage growth in the province. I'm connected to the international community here, and one of their biggest grievances is lack of reliable transportation.
Virgin Media Price Rises - save yourself some money.
Main Post:
Hey all.
This week I got an email from Virgin Media telling me my broadband package was increasing in price by 10%.
Quick check online and found my package listed at 40% under what they were trying to increase my price to.
Found their head of complaints email address, [email protected], quick polite email and less than an hour later I received a call from their exec office.
5 minute call and I'm now paying less that their new customer prices seen online.
Saved myself £210 over the next 18 months now.

Dear Virgin Media
I've been a customer of yours since 1 June 2020.
I was initially paying £29.99/month for M100 Fibre Broadband and 100+Tv channels. Come May 2021 I was informed the price would increase to £59/month. After speaking to your retention staff we agreed a price of £38/month for the same package until 15 November 2022.
On 5 January 2022 I received an email stating my price would increase by £4/month from 1 March 2022.
Looking online I see that our package is still available at £29.99/month yet I'm expected to pay £42/month?
I understand price rises in line with inflation and Virgin Media measure this using the Retail Price Index however I cannot understand our price increase from £38 to £42 which equals a10.53% increase. RPI this year is currently predicted at 4.2%.
The difference in price for other customers paying £29.99/month and us paying £42/month is a difference of 40.05%. How can you justify this increase?
As resolution to this price hike my preferred expectation would be that I'm offered the same price as other customers of £29.99/month for the duration of this contract.
If that can't be done then I'd settle for my price to remain the same at £38/month.
If this also can't be done then I'll have no option but to end our agreement. There are plenty of alternatives these days and with the introduction of 5G to our area we no longer have to rely on traditional lines.
I hope to hear back soon,
Thank you.
***they offered me my package at £29/month
